Jack Lee Haughn, 83
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father Jack Lee Haughn. He was a kind, compassionate, gentle man. He would always put others first.
He was born on December 12, 1940, in Emporia, Kansas. Son of Lafayette C. and Lora (King) Haughn.
He is survived by his loving daughters Marcie (Tony) and Michele (Gary), his grandchildren Alexander, Trey (Nancy), Anthony, and Devin (Kendra), and his seven great-grandchildren. He was a pillar of strength and leaves behind memories that will be shared for generations to come. He loved his family and was the Best dad and grandpa!
He attended Ottawa University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree Mathematics. He went on to earn his master's degree in mathematics from Emporia State Teachers College. He began his teaching career as a Math teacher and Basketball coach in Paxico, Kansas at Paxico Rural High School in 1962-1974. He and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1974. Where he taught Mathematics and coached Basketball, Football, Baseball at Brophy College Prep. He was there until 1990 then left to teach at Glendale Community College. He retired from his teaching career in 2013. He was a mentor to countless students during his teaching career.
He enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing and was a master Bridge player.
Jack's life will be celebrated, and he will be laid to rest in Ottawa, Kansas at a later date.

Jack and I enjoyed times when our families gathered to share holiday meals and other visits. Loved the family.
