Terrence P "Terry" Black

Terence P. "Terry" Black, age 81, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away peacefully at his home on December 12, 2025.

Terry was born on May 27, 1944, in Yakima, Washington, to Maurice D. and Rosemary Ann Black.

He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Andy) Honegger of Morton, Illinois; his son, Jim Black of Scottsdale, Arizona; and his two cherished granddaughters, Sarah and Katie Honegger. He is also survived by his brother Dan Black of Arlington, Virginia; sister Joie Dossey of Chandler, Arizona; brother Tim (Debby) Black of Prescott, Arizona; brother Larry (Brenda) Black of Mesa, Arizona; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his former spouse, Barbara.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Roy Dossey, his sister-in-law, Samantha Black, and his nephew Matthew Black.

Terry was a self-made businessman and proud American. Raised in Phoenix, he was a graduate of Brophy College Preparatory School, where he excelled in sports, and the University of Arizona, home of his beloved Wildcats. Following college, he made his home in the San Diego, California area before retiring to Prescott, Arizona, where he spent his later years.

Terry's life was shaped by his love for his family and his dear friendships throughout his life. He is now at peace, and we entrust him to God's infinite mercy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Brophy Chapel at Brophy College Preparatory, 4701 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Private burial services will take place at a later date at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery in Phoenix.
