JACK HERRING
Aiken, SC - Jack Lynn Herring, age 70, of Aiken, South Carolina, and a lifelong resident of Oconee County, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Anderson, South Carolina, Jack was the son of Jimmy Ray Neal and Wilma Patterson Neal. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was filled with love, laughter, and a strong work ethic. Jack retired from Sandvik, where he was known for his dedication and commitment to his work. Jack was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. A man of faith, he was a faithful member of Newry Church of God, where he found joy and purpose in serving the Lord and his church family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Kay Capps Herring; his children, Joey Herring (Alina) of Six Mile Josh Herring (Meredith) of Aiken, and Priscilla Collins (Robert) of Aiken; siblings, Eddie Herring of Central, Emiline Barrett of Seneca, and Teresa Smith of Seneca; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of whom were his greatest joy.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Newry Church of God, with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Wednesday, at the church.
