SHIRLEY TAYLOR
Westminster – Shirley Butts Taylor, 79, loving wife of the late Horace "Gene" Eugene Taylor, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born on May 30, 1946, Shirley was the daughter of the late Thomas Patton and Bessie Aloe Burton Butts. Shirley was a talented and dedicated seamstress at Jantzen, where she took great pride in her work and in the fine craftmanship she brought to every piece she created. Shirley found great joy in tending to her garden and cultivating beautiful flowers. She also cherished spending time camping in the outdoors, but above all, her greatest happiness came from sharing time and making memories with her beloved family.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Keith Taylor, Jeff Taylor; daughter, Amanda Taylor; sisters, Eleanor Watson, Ann Smith, Ruth Brackett; grandchildren, Matthew Taylor (Danielle), Amber Taylor, Crystal Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Adin Taylor, Brooklyn Mark; great-grandchild, Avia Wright.
In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Butts, Jim Butts, Rev. Harold Butts, Earl Butts; sisters, Alpha Butts, Ines Hollingsworth, Veda Buchanon, Vera Purdy, and Louise Lewis.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 16, 2025, at The Greater Life Worship Center, 10102 Long Creek Highway, Westminster, SC 29693, with burial to follow in the Calvary Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the Greater Life Worship Center.
The family is at the residence of Keith Taylor, 126 Weldon Road, Westminster, SC 29693. Flowers are accepted. Condolences may be expressed online by visiting www.sandiferfuneralhome.com.
