Thomas Alvin “Jack” Huffman, age 82, of Cherryville, passed peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House. He was born April 8, 1943, in Denton, North Carolina to the late Benny and Ruby Peacock Huffman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and John Huffman.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Sybil Abel Huffman; son, David Huffman (Karen); daughter, Melissa Huffman (Robert Griswold); sisters, Hildreth Hatley, and Glenda Miller (David); grandchildren, Zoe Grose (Kole); Luke Huffman, Andrew Rigley (Melissa); and Haley Flowers (Zane); great-grandchildren, Ryder Rigley, and Rhett Rigley.
Jack was veteran of the United States Army. After his time with the Army, he served in the Army National Guard. Jack was a member of the Steele Creek Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed saltwater fishing which included both deep sea and surf fishing. He also enjoys tinkering with older cars. Anyone who knew Jack knew that he had the gift of gab. He just loved to talk and enjoyed making people laugh. Jack was a simple man with a big heart and will be missed dearly. “Do you know Jack”?
