Jack Leslie "Les" Johnson, Jr., 74, of Rockingham, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Born on October 31, 1951, in Bristol, Virginia, and he was the son of Jack Leslie, Sr. and Doris Whorley Johnson.
Les was raised in Roanoke and graduated from Cave Spring High School. He then went on to attend Virginia Tech, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in finance. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant, and while he had a diverse professional background, he was especially fond of his charitable work with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine.
He was a loving and devoted husband to Elizabeth "Libby" Allman Johnson, who he married on April 15, 1989, in his beloved hometown of Roanoke, Virginia.
Surviving family members in addition to his wife, are their daughter, Dr. Larissa Johnson, and her children, Josephine and Elias; nieces, Kylene Casey (husband, Andreas), and Andrea Fiegl (husband, Charles); nephew, Josiah Johnson (wife, Carlie); sisters-in-law; Lora Smith (husband, Roy), and Linda Johnson, as well as many other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lou Skaggs, and brother, William C. Johnson.
A private service was held at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
