Jack W. McDonald, 94, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025, at St. Anne Home, Greensburg.

Born April 12, 1931, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late John E. McDonald and Amelia E. (College) McDonald.

Jack was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Latrobe. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at the Latrobe Brewing Company with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Retired Steelworkers Union Local No. 1537, Cooperstown Veterans and Sportsmen Association, the Valley Green Senior Golf League, and was a life member of the Frontier Club. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, bowling, and golfing especially with his sons. Jack will be lovingly remembered as a good husband and devoted father who cared deeply about his family and friends. He was a true gentleman whose quiet and humble personality and genuine care of others endeared him to those who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine D. (Smetak) McDonald on November 3, 2022; one brother, Robert McDonald; and two sisters, Katherine DeMine and Helen Knaus.

Jack is survived by two sons, Mark W. McDonald and his wife, Darlyn, of Chalfont, PA, and Gary J. McDonald and his wife, Nancy, of Irwin; two granddaughters, Lauryn McDonald and Rebecca McDonald; two step-grandchildren, Jason Adams and Jennifer Adams; two step-great-grandchildren, Eva and Rose; and he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Latrobe. Everyone is asked to please go directly to church. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pittsburgh Chapter, 2835 E.
