Jack Meier Obituary E. Jack Meier a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in the care of Grace Village Health Care at the age of 88. Jack will be remembered for his sincere kindness and generosity. He will be dearly missed and remembered by family, friends and those who came to know him.
He was born on February 7, 1937, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio to Ernest and Mabelle (Dysart) Meier. Jack attended Augusta Military Academy in Fort Defiance, Virginia and graduated from high school in June of 1955. He attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana graduating in June of 1959 with a major in Business Management. He met a lovely girl his freshman year by the name of Faye Marie Holmgren. They shared a snow covered outing at Purdue and by their senior year, Jack knew he was going to spend the rest of his life with Faye. On November 28, 1959, Jack and Faye were married in LaPorte, Indiana and they shared 57 years of marriage before she passed away on July 12, 2017.
Immediately following graduation, Jack joined RR Donnelley & Sons in Crawfordsville, Indiana, originally in its customer service department and later as the Director of Purchasing. In January of 1960 he joined the Indiana National Guard and spent 6 years in the Guard while employed by RR Donnelley. After 10 years in Crawfordsville, Jack transferred to the RR Donnelley plant in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as Director of Customer Service. He spent 10 years in Lancaster in several different management positions before accepting a transfer to Warsaw, Indiana in 1980 as the Customer Service Manager. Jack retired from RR Donnelley & Sons in 1992 as Director of Customer Service, Quality and Production Control. After retiring from RR Donnelley, Jack joined Our Sunday Visitor in Huntington, Indiana as Vice President, where he served for 2 years. Relocating to Bowling Green, Kentucky to work with Brown Printing Company and later took the position of U.S. Director of Marketing, when Quebecor acquired Brown. He finally retired in 2000.
Afterwards Jack and his wife, Faye, moved to Fishers, Indiana before relocating to Warsaw, Indiana in 2005. They decided to build a home in Winona Lake, Indiana and resided there until Faye had to go into the care of Grace Village for long term care in November of 2010 until her passing. Jack enjoyed living in his condo at Grace Village Retirement Community and was blessed with the many friendships he made over the years.
Jack was loved by his family and many dear friends that visited him and kept in touch. He leaves behind two nephews, Chris Meier (Bluffton, SC); and Scott (wife Paula) Meier (Richmond, VA). He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Faye, and his brother and sister-in-law, James William (wife Paulette) Meier.
Jack's life will be celebrated with a graveside service at 9:00 a.m. (CST) on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Graceland Cemetery, 1505 Morthland Drive, Valparaiso, Indiana and officiated by Chaplain Bryan Benjamin. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
Memorial donations may be directed to Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc., 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, Georgia 30047; or to Grace Village Retirement Community, Long Term Care, 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, Indiana 46590 and would be appreciated by the family.
