Jack E. Povlock

Jack E. Povlock, age 83 of Elk River, MN, passed away on February 8, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Princeton, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Fr. Kevin Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Pius X Cemetery in Zimmerman at a later date.
Jack Edward Povlock was born to Philip and Eva (Kalamanka) Povlock on February 14, 1939, in Salamanca, New York. He graduated from high school and went on to attend the University of Montreal, where he was very close to completing his degree before he was drafted into the Air Force. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jack completed his Master's Degree while serving in the military, and he went on to work for many years as a contract negotiator for Honeywell. He was married to the love of his life, James Franklin Larson, on September 12, 2013, and they have been together for over 20 years.
Jack will be remembered for his kindness and the way he made others feel loved and welcome. He had a deep love of cooking and was always looking for new recipes to conquer as he entertained family and friends. Jack was a social butterfly, and he was always wanting to get to know new people around him. Both Jack and Jim loved animals, especially their standard poodle, Fergus, who they always fed a special treat of ginger snaps. Above all else, Jack will be remembered for his generosity and positivity, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his husband, Jim; sister, Mary Jean Povlock; sister-in-law, Jan Povlock; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Tom Povlock and James Povlock.
