Jack William Saraceno, known fondly to friends and family as Jack the hat, passed away on April 8, 2025, in Prescott, Arizona a little over 3 years after the passing of his beloved wife Dorothy of 54 years. Born on September 2, 1947, in the Manhattan, New York, Jack's vivacious spirit and boundless energy brought light and warmth to all who knew him. He was a man whose heart was as big as his smile, and it is with profound sadness that we announce his passing.
Jack's journey began in the bustling streets of the Bronx, where his charismatic nature and sharp mind were evident from a young age. His academic pursuits led him to Iona College, where he studied business, laying the groundwork for what would become a stellar career in sales. Jack's talent for connecting with people wasn't just a professional skill-it was his life's passion.
Jack loved cars and he loved people and he loved bringing the two together. Jack was a dedicated member of the Kiwanis Club, where he channeled his combined his flair for entertaining and his love for vintage automobiles as a car show organizer, events that brought joy to many and raised funds for various causes.
Jack's interests were as colorful and diverse as his personality. He had an amazing eye for fashion, often seen in extravagant outfits and a big hat that matched his larger-than-life character. Jack's big warm smile was infectious, and his presence could light up the dullest of rooms, if he was there, you knew it and were delighted by it.
Above all, Jack was a family man. He was an absolutely devoted and adoring husband. He is survived by his daughter, Jaclyn Saraceno (Philipp Wiedemann), and son, Jack Saraceno, who will remember him as a loving father who always knew and was loved by everyone, everywhere they ever went. He is also survived by his siblings Orazio (Yvonne), Josephine Guarino (Anthony), and James (Dawn) and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Jack was a beacon of friendliness and warmth, always ready to offer wisdom or a helping hand. His absence will leave an immeasurable void not only in his family's lives but also in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In remembering Jack, we celebrate a life lived with enthusiasm and love. A loyal and generous friend who was always there when needed, and a soul whose memory will continue to inspire kindness and camaraderie in the community he cherished so dearly.
Though Jack's journey on this earth has come to an end, the legacy of his blue eyes, big hat and even bigger smile will endure. We bid farewell to a man who was not only the life of the party but also the heart of his family and community. Jack Saraceno will be deeply missed, but the memories and stories that he created will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
The service will be streamed at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Streaming will begin on Saturday April 19, 2025 at 11am
