Frankfort – Earnest "Jack" Lee Smith, age 72, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Services will be held at St. John AME Church on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor LaVeeshia Pryor officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at St. John AME Church from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday.

Mr. Smith was born in Brewton, Alabama on August 9, 1953, to the late Robert "Jack" Smith and Clara Belle Smith. He graduated from Southern Norman High School in 1971, and played basketball at Prentice College in Prentice, Mississippi, as well as Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama. Mr. Smith pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity in 1973, and graduated from Talladega College in 1974, with a degree in Psychology. He joined the Masonic Temple in Brewton, Alabama.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Doris Smith; brother, Roy (Gwen) Smith; step-children Rodney Hunt and Kecia Hunt; grandsons, Gary and Terry (Kayla) Metcalf; great-grandchildren, Carter, Ryleigh, Charlie, Jordyn, Gary "Bubba" III, Teagan & Payton; and nieces, Teresa Quarker Smith and Callie Quarker Smith; great-nephews, Carter Van Smith and William "Luke" Smith; and sister-in-law, Renee Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Van (Wilma) Smith and James "Book" Smith; and step-child, Shelia Hunt.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. John AME Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
