Jack E. (John) Trzcinski, 80, of West Grove, PA, formerly of
Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly after a long illness on September 20th, after having spent a joyful day surrounded by family at a family gathering.
Born in 1945 to Eugene and Pauline Trzcinski, he attended St. Elizabeth's Elementary School and Salesianum High School, graduating in 1963, before earning an associate's degree from the University of Delaware.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served his country during Vietnam aboard the aircraft carrier USS America.
Jack dedicated 21 years of his life to the Wilmington Fire Department (WFD) in
Wilmington, Delaware. After retiring, he remained active in a variety of occupations, always finding meaningful ways to keep busy.
Known for his practical advice and willingness to help, he was a trusted source of guidance for family and friends. He also took immense pride in maintaining the home and land he and his wife Mary Ellen shared in West Grove, PA - a place that became the center of countless family gatherings. From Christmas celebrations with as many as forty loved ones enjoying their annual, laughter-filled Yankee Swaps, to birthdays and even a tented wedding reception. For Jack, there was no greater joy than bringing together family and friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Jack was also a skilled and adventurous cook, always eager to try new recipes while continuing to perfect old favorites. His love for the kitchen was matched only by his love for the outdoors. Fishing, crabbing, and camping were among his favorite pastimes, and he especially looked forward to annual camping trips in the mountains with his brother-in-law, Larry Setting, of Wilmington.
Jack is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Mary Ellen (Ritchie) Trzcinski, of West Grove; his children, John Arthur (Sandy) of Malaga, Spain, Victoria Lynn Boone (Brian) of
Wilmington, DE and Thomas Paul (Jessica) of Kimberton, PA; four grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley Boone, and Olive and Josephine Hope Trzcinski; his sister Kathy Trzcinski of Milton, DE and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will fondly remember "Uncle Jack" for his larger-than-life personality and his unwavering love.
Jack will be remembered for his absolute, unconditional love for his family - a love that touched everyone around him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jack's life on Saturday, October 25th with a visitation beginning at 10:30am and funeral services beginning at 11:30am at Mealey's Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road,
