Jackie was born on April 17, 1950, to Charles and Ruth (Henry) O'Donnell. She graduated from Iowa City West High School in 1969. On July 24, 1971, she married the love of her life, Danny Dean, in Iowa City.
Jackie dedicated many years working at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City until her retirement in 2012. In her free time, she found joy in caring for her dogs and plants, and in her later years, she devoted herself to lovingly caring for her husband, Danny.
She is survived by her daughter, Angie Brunner of North Liberty, and her husband, Corey, as well as her two beloved granddaughters, Brielle and Brynlea, and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings, and husband Danny in June 2024.
The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is caring for Jackie and her family. To honor Jackie's wishes, no services are planned. Memorials may be directed to the animal shelter of your choice.
An Old Irish Blessing--May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
