Jackie Albert Friesen, 84, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, passed away on August 16, 2025. He was born on July 19, 1941, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Albert and Helen (McCracken) Friesen. Jackie grew up in Thomas where he graduated from high school in 1959. A gifted athlete, Jackie played football throughout his school years, winning multiple state championships with his brothers. He went on to play college football at various schools before completing his undergraduate studies at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Jackie began his career in education, teaching in Oklahoma, Hawaii, and California. While teaching, he met his first wife, Carol Tettemore, and together they had two sons, Jonathan David and Michael Scott. While living in California, he furthered his education and earned his master's degree from San Jose State University. Jackie later returned to Oklahoma where he served as an elementary principal in Okarche and Calumet. After retiring from education, he managed the Kingfisher Golf Course for many years before operating Beaver Freight until his retirement. Later in life, Jackie married Gwen McClung; they remained close friends until his passing. Jackie's hobbies included golfing, playing cards, and enjoying all kinds of sports. More than anything, he loved time spent with his family, friends, and his beloved dogs, Gus and Cricket. He was a faithful member of the Kingfisher Church of Christ. He is survived by his two sons, Jon Friesen and his wife Lavon, and their children Brady and Noah; and Mike Friesen and his wife Shannon, and their children Jackson, Caleb, Stephanie, and Morgan. He is also survived by his brother, Donnie Friesen and his wife Nancy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen Friesen; his brother, Richard Friesen, sister-in-law Carol Friesen, and the mother of his children, Carol Tettemore Friesen. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Kingfisher Church of Christ. The family would like to thank the staff of Caring Hearts Hospice, especially Allen and Cyndi, for caring for Jackie during his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cimarron Nursing Home, Kingfisher Golf Association, or Caring Hearts Hospice.
