It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Mabel Rose "Jackie" Kelty at the age of 90.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 61 years James Harold Kelty, her children James Kelty Jr, Freida Marie Kelty, Angela Holmes, Allen Kelty (Sandy), Gary Kelty, David Kelty, great grandson Will Kelty, her parents and one brother, Jim Devine.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Roger Kelty (Linda) Mark Kelty; 2 daughters , Debbie Newman (Don) and Donna Kronauer; daughters-in-law , Gail Kelty and Leisa Kelty;13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 8 great-greatgrandchildren

She was a longtime resident of Mt Washington, Kentucky and a member of St Francis Xavier Church and Church of the Crossroads.

How many people are lucky enough to meet the love of their life at 13 years old? Our mom did. She was born October 26, 1934, in Springfield Kentucky where she met our dad who lived in the nearby town of Loretto. Their love story soon began and together they built a wonderful life together. They raised their children with an abundance of love and faith, which will continue in many generations to come. Mom attended all our sporting events for hours upon hours and was our biggest fan. We could always look in the bleachers and spot mom, cheering us on. Whether family or friend, her faith in God served as a guiding light to those close to her. She faced many challenging hardships in her life, including surviving breast cancer twice. Throughout the toughest times, she remained a pillar of strength, love, and grace, defined by her unwavering devotion to her family. She will always be our family matriarch, a life well lived. She left behind a letter for us to read after her passing, written in 2003... " There is always a gray line between the black and white, so don't judge others too harshly, only God can do that". She truly lived by the words she wrote

She had a passion for watching old westerns, especially the iconic John Wayne, and reading romance novels. She looked forward to her Tuesday outings to church and shopping with her daughter Debbie. As our family grew, she especially loved holding her grandbabies and being surrounded by the family and friends she loved dearly. We rejoice knowing she is at peace, united with her loved ones basking in the internal presence of our Lord.

A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday June 26, 2025 at Schmid Funeral Home in Mt. Washington with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
