Jackson Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tabor Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Brighton on Jun. 28, 2023.
Obituary
Jackson Patrick Smith was born August 23, 2003 at North Suburban Hospital in Thornton Colorado. He was a bit early and had to make his entrance about five weeks early, mom and dad sure were surprised, but that was him, sometimes just a little impatient. We were so happy he was here!
Jackson is survived by his Madre Deonna Smith, his Padre Richard Smith, bonus Mom Lanai Smith, Brother Logan, Sister Lillie, bonus sister Jaelyn, Grandma and Grandpa Nebraska Jack and Glenda Krebs, Papa and Nana Leo and Kathy Smith, Grandma and Grandpa Ferret Rich and Cheri Phillips, Grandpa and Grandma Johnnie and Anita Summerfield, Grandpa Joey Wasnalas, and Great Grandma Madeline Stephens.
He was preceded in death by his Grandma Wyoming Vicki Welke, Grandpa Donut Tony Richter, and bonus Grandma Cherie Wasnalas.
Jackson was the second oldest of four kids and had quite a passion for sports. He played football, rugby, basketball, and wrestling. (He had one match ever and of course won) Most recently his game of choice was video games. He was known to have a very competitive and dedicated approach to all activities he participated in.
Growing up, Jackson was fortunate to be able to hunt and fish with his Grandpa Nebraska and loved going to the cabin with his Papa Leo. He was always up for an adventure.
Around sixth grade, he moved to Brighton Colorado. This is when he met his best friend, Kaden Gray, his brother from another mother indeed. Together they started to terrorize the town of Brighton, and Lochbuie, Colorado as boys tend to do.
He graduated from Brighton High School in 2022 and decided his next adventure would be a fishing boat in Alaska. In his words "the most horrible job ever", but he was determined and he saw it through.
He recently applied for a job with a family friend and he found he had big challenges to overcome to get it, but with his determination and mindset he got it. It was around this time, his family and friends started to see him becoming the great man he so wanted to be. He was a proud blue collar working man.
In the last months, he had saved enough money to try a new interest and bought himself a four wheeler. It was fast, it was loud, and he loved it.
Jackson was known to always be snarky, sarcastic he would also make people laugh until their belly ached. His smile was always infectious and people couldn't help but love to be around him. He was silly and fun when he could be and determined and focused when he wanted to be.
He brought love and adventure to all that knew him. He was an amazing son, brother, friend, dog dad and person.
Jackson Patrick Smith was called home to be with the Lord June 24, 2023. He was 19 years old.
