On July 27th, 2024, Jacob Elijah Bowman, 13, entered the Kingdom of Heaven and inherited the promise of eternal life.
Jacob was born on May 9th, 2011, to parents Steven Bradley Bowman and Katherine Ann Wood Bowman in Brandon Florida. Jacob, Steven, Katherine and younger brother Reid resided in Riverview Florida where Jacob attended Sessums Elementary school. Jacob and family participated in a faith community, at Arise Church of Brandon Florida.
In the spring of 2022 Jacob and family moved to Calhoun, Georgia by the leading of God and Jacob attended Belwood Elementary School. Jacob moved to the 7th grade and attended Ashworth Middle School. The family and Jacob continued their pursuit of God and the calling on their lives by attending Redemption Church of Rome, Georgia. Jacob was active in their youth ministries and loved to worship Jesus.
Jacob had many interests and hobbies. Jacob loved swimming, amusement parks, singing, video games, basketball, telling jokes, watching game shows and playing board games with his family. Jacob was competitive and excelled at the things he put his heart and mind to. Jacob loved to travel and take vacations. He loved spending time with his grandparents and playing with his cousins.
Jacob demonstrated unwavering faith through all circumstances. He was grounded in his faith and hope in each promise given through the word of God. Jacob was a remarkable kid who’s flame and fire for God was contagious. He would light up a room and draw a crowd with his kindness, humor and zeal for life. He was eager to learn and always encouraged participation by others. His heart to give and compassion for others was exuberant and overflowing. Jacob had a heart for people and said he felt called to be a Pastor. Jacob’s life, words and actions have led many to increase their faith and turn their eyes on Jesus.
Jacob was a great first-born son and big brother. Jacob is survived by his father Steven Bradley Bowman, mother Katherine Ann Wood Bowman and brother Reid Wood Bowman.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 2 PM at Grandview Memory Gardens (38659 Gov George C. Peery Hwy, Bluefield, VA 24605.
In lieu of flowers Jacob requested memorial donations to be made to Redemption Church of Rome.
