Jacob Clifford McCrary

DURHAM: Jacob Clifford McCrary, 95, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at his home in Durham. He was born in Hamilton County, Tennessee to the late William Judson McCrary and Minnie Irene Williams McCrary. In addition to his parents, Mr. McCrary is also predeceased by his wife, Pauline Tingen McCrary.
Mr. McCrary graduated from both high school and college at Toccoa Falls Institute, Toccoa, GA. After marrying Pauline, they moved to Durham, NC, where he carpentered and then was hired by the post office. He retired from the Durham Post Office as a postal supervisor.
Mr. McCrary enjoyed gardening, fine woodworking, reading, and serving as an Elder at Faith Alliance Church. His family and faith were very important to him.
Mr. McCrary is survived by his daughters, Karen McCrary Smith (Lawrence), Pamela McCrary Lopez (Oscar - deceased); grandchildren, Michael Smith (Holly), Sharon Moss (Hazel), Andrea Burns (Nate), Alicia Raburn (George), Amelia VanSant (Nathaniel), and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 2nd at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
