Obituaries give you the basics of a life lived, but not all of the important things. On December 5, 1992 Jake came screaming into this world almost 3 months early weighing a whopping 3 lbs 12 oz. It was like he knew his life would be cut short and he had so much to get done! He came into this world with a gentle, old soul and a huge heart. If you were blessed enough to be in his circle of family and friends, you would know love without boundaries.
He loved his brother, sisters, cousins, and friends fiercely, but had a special place in his heart for Tara and his niece, Gracie. They were a huge part of his world. So much so that he had a shrine of Gracie in his room to include not only her pictures, but also all her art work she made for him.
He is survived by: parents, Michelle (Gipson) and Christopher McWhorter; sisters, Tara Parker and husband Richie of Wichita, KS, Jackie Tucker and husband Matt of Derby, KS, Cassey McWhorter and husband Jimmy Palmer of Rose Hill, KS, Amanda Donnelley and husband Clint of Rose Hill, KS; brother, Christopher McWhorter of Wichita, KS; girlfriend, Aubree Varney and children, Kashtyn and Stetson; grandpa, William McWhorter of Salina, KS; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary & Elaine Gipson and Laverne McWhorter, his Uncle Dave, and numerous close friends who all left this world too soon. His grandparents were his world and he was left so shattered by their deaths. He wrote them a letter and carried it with him in his wallet well into his twenties until it was stolen. Many of his childhood memories were spending time with them.
His passion in life was anything he could do outside or on the water. Fishing, kayaking, and spending time at the lake was where he was most free. The outdoors provided an escape and where he found so much peace and happiness. He never turned down an opportunity to be there.
Spread your wings baby boy and fly high! I know you are safe in God's arms and no longer suffering!
