Jacqueline Alice Sudduth Allen, affectionately known as "Jackie," passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at her residence in Groves, Texas. Born on July 11, 1924, in Port Arthur, Texas, Jackie lived a remarkable century filled with devotion, love, and commitment to her family and faith.
Jackie was a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and furthered her education at Port Arthur Business College. She dedicated several years of her professional life to The Offices of The Texas Company before embracing her role as a dedicated homemaker. Jackie was known for her unwavering dedication to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her devotion to her family was evident in all aspects of her life. She enjoyed her time spent with loved ones, whether it was engaging in lively games of dominoes, coloring, or simply staying active with walks in her community.
In 1949, Jackie married Jack Allen at the First Baptist Church in Port Arthur, and the couple moved to Groves in 1951. They became active members of the First Baptist Church of Groves, where their faith continued to grow throughout their lives together. Jackie’s proudest accomplishments include nurturing a loving family and creating a home filled with warmth and encouragement.
Jackie is survived by her loving children, Jill Geltz and husband Milton, Jan Teufel, and Judy Resweber. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Laura Brock and husband Evan, Meredith Barry and husband Matt, Carolyn Sharma and husband Sanjay, Jeffrey Teufel, and Daniel Resweber. Additionally, she was a proud great-grandmother to Abigail and Wyatt Brock, Daniel and Hannah Sharma, Eli and Leander Resweber, and Alice and Lucille Barry. Jackie is also survived by the mother to Eli and Leander, Kasie Resweber.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, S.J. and Elsie Sudduth; her beloved husband, Jack Allen; her brother, Bob Sudduth; her sisters, Marjorie Kuykendall and Elsie Mae Crothers; her grandson, Jason Wayne Resweber and his father, Wayne Resweber, son-in-law, Mike Teufel; and her sister-in-law, Gwen Sudduth.
A visitation will be held on April 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM both taking place at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves located at 5601 39th St, Groves, Texas. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Jackie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her enduring spirit will live on through the many lives she touched.
