Jacqueline Louise Macklin-Long, age 80transitioned from this life on Monday, Sept 1st, 2025. Jackie was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 14th, 1944 to the proud parents of William and Audrey (Lowery) Tuggle. She was the first born of four beautiful daughters Jackie, Marcia, Toni and Sharon.
Jackie graduated from North High School in 1962. Upon graduation Jackie began working several jobs before choosing a successful career in insurance. She joyfully retired in 2009. Jackie met Cephas Macklin in junior high school. A lifelong friend, they married and had three beautiful children Bryan, Tamu and Barry.
Jackie was known for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, sassy spirit and dynamic personality that would light up any room.
Whether you called her Mommy, Mom, Abuella, Mee-Maw, Mawmaw, Sister, Wife, Aunt Jackie, Ms. Jackie, Cuz or dear friend she was everything to everybody. Her family was her life, especially her children, grandchildren and great grand daughter. Simply stated Jackie was generous, big-hearted, and one of a kind.
There was never a dull moment with Jackie around. She was known amongst friends and family for her many pranks and shenanigans. Especially not missing the opportunity to scare the “bleep” out of someone.
Jackie was known for opening her home and her heart to many. She could meet a stranger and turn them into a friend. Her warmth and her presence just made you gravitate to her.
Whether she was making her famous Thanksgiving dressing, delicious lasagna or liver and onions, everyone knew Jackie could throw down in the kitchen! And they were always welcome at her table.
Jackie found love again later in life, when she met and married Nathan Long. She was dedicated to making sure he had the best quality of life before his passing in 2023. In July 2024 Jackie suffered a large stroke. By the grace of God, her indomitable spirit and the encouragement of family and friends we were blessed with her for another year.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Nathan long, parents William and Audrey Tuggle and brother Billy Tuggle.
Jackie leaves to cherish her memory, sons Bryan (Teruko) Macklin, Barry Macklin; daughter Tamu (Jeffrey) Kelly; sisters Margaret “Marcia” (Boo) Johnson, Toni (Gerald) Lyles, Sharon (Nate) Brannon, special “sister” cousin Vicki De Cherry; Grandchildren Cheyanne, Chandler, and Cameryn Kelly, Myles Macklin, Kheri Macklin; great granddaughter Londyn Briar and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
