Joyce Ruth Rodock Parsons, 76, passed away peacefully after a brief illness in Columbus, Ohio, on August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Coshocton, Ohio, Joyce graduated from Columbus North High School in 1967 and went on to attend the Ohio State School of Cosmetology. She later built a 47-year career at the Chemical Abstracts Society, where her dedication and hard work left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

Joyce had a gift for connecting with people—she could strike up a conversation with anyone and walk away with a new friend. She loved helping others, finding treasures at thrift stores, and enjoying a good movie. A devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, she cheered on her team with passion, even when her family playfully teased her by sneaking Michigan gear into the house. Her sense of humor, infectious laughter, and ability to turn any gathering into a lively, joyful occasion will be deeply missed.

Above all, Joyce was a woman of faith, a believer in Jesus Christ, and a source of love and warmth to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Parsons; sons Casey (Mandy) Parsons and Kyle Parsons; grandchildren Madison Briggs, Casey Parsons, Mason Parsons, and Leyleanna Parsons; and siblings Rick, Stanley, Nick, Rachael, Tina, and Toby. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Rodock; and siblings Renee Rodock Moore and Randy Rodock.

In keeping with Joyce’s wishes, no formal service will be held. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Shaw Davis Funeral Home for their compassionate guidance and care. Joyce will be laid to rest beside her mother at Glen Rest Memorial Estates in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
