Jacqueline C. Lutes

February 25, 1954-September 9, 2024

Jacqueline C. Lutes, 70, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 9, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born February 25, 1954 in Elkhart, Indiana, the daughter of Wanda Anderson.

A lifelong resident of the area, Jacqueline attended New Prairie High School, class of 1972. On March 11, 1984, in Porter County, she married Arlie "Buddy" Lutes who preceded her in death. Jacqueline was a woman of many passions, cherished by all who knew her. Her love for bowling was evident. Every Sunday and Wednesday night, she could be found in the bowling alley in La Porte, engaging in friendly competition and creating lasting memories with her fellow bowlers. Her dedication to family was unwavering. Jacqueline participated actively in her granddaughters' Girl Scout activities, guiding them with love and warmth, and shared in many adventures with her grandson in Boy Scouts. She was known to go above and beyond for her family, making them feel loved and supported in every endeavor. A talented baker, Jacqueline left a lasting legacy with her baking creations. The no-bake cheesecakes she made were particularly famous, and because they were devoured so fast, she would lovingly prepare individual cheesecakes for everyone she cared for, ensuring that they each got as much as they wanted.

Jacqueline is survived by her daughter, Skye Taylor of La Porte, IN and four grandchildren, Connor Anderson, Tommy Taylor, Tara Taylor, and Tabatha Taylor.

Along with her husband, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kyle Lutes; daughter, Layla Anderson; brother, Dennis Anderson, and sisters, Cheryl Anderson and Linda Anderson.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. A private burial will be held.
