Jacquiline 'Jackie' Simonson, a cherished soul who graced this world with her presence, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 26, 2025, in Nampa, Idahoborn on August 16, 1929, to Selma and Roy Cook, in Evanston, Wyoming. Jackie's life was a testament to the power of dedication, love, and joy. Jackie grew up in the heart of Evanston, where the warm community and the picturesque surroundings nurtured her youthful spirit. The family moved to Idaho where she graduated in Pocatello. Jackie cultivated a strong foundation that would carry her through a life of meaningful work and relationships. After graduating, Jackie embarked on a career path that would see her making significant contributions to various organizations. She worked diligently at the telephone company and INEL in Arco, later moving on to Heritage Insurance. Her career culminated with a noteworthy tenure at the Schiller Law Office, from which she retired.
Retirement did not slow Jackie down; instead, it offered her the opportunity to pursue her passion for raising baby calves. This endeavor brought her immense joy and satisfaction, and it was during this period that her nurturing spirit shone brightest. Jackie's love for her home was unparalleled. Once she and her husband, Jerry, sold their beloved farm, she insisted on creating the perfect domestic haven, a task Jerry lovingly saw to fruition. Jackie's home was her sanctuary, a place filled with love, laughter, and the memories of a life well-lived.
Jackie's interests were as varied as they were rich. Despite being a homebody at heart, she had an adventurous spirit and relished the opportunity to travel. Her journeys were always centered around family, as spending quality time with her loved ones was Jackie's greatest joy. Her marriage to Jerry Simonson was a beautiful partnership that spanned over five decades. The couple's devotion to each other was evident in every aspect of their lives, and they endeavored to cherish every moment together.
Jackie's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her husband, Jerry Simonson; her daughter, Dee Ann; Darla, Karla, and son Toby. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jackie is survived by her husband Jerry Simonson, children, Dee Ann, Darla (Jim), Carla (Eric), and Toby (Connie). She is preceded in death by her parents, and son Jerry Wayne Ficklin.
