Jake Neville McNiel, 66, of Westlake, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Jake was born in Livingston, Texas on January 22, 1959 to Charles and Edith McNiel. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club. He loved dancing, hunting, fishing, leather working and spending time on the boat or around a fire. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, who were the highlights of his life.
Jake is preceded in death by his loving wife of 22 years, Louanna Marie Romero McNiel; parents; great-grandson, Anthony Miller; brothers, Joey McNiel and Charles McNiel Sr.; sisters, Bonnie Mayberry and Lisa White; and nephews, Jerry White Jr. and Collin Moscicki.
Those left to cherish his memory are daughters, Aranda Yahya of Houston,Texas, Casandra Clark and husband Daniel of Deridder, Shanna Dailey and husband Jeff of Ragley, Lacci McNiel of Westlake, and Kaitlyn McNiel of Lake Charles; son that was adopted; brother, Kenneth McNiel Sr. and wife Guin of Livingston, Texas; brother in law, Jim Mayberry of Broaddus, Texas; grandchildren, Taylor Carlin (Charles), MaKenzie Dyson (Cade), Brayden Carlin, Kayden Dailey, PaigeLynn Dyson, Logan Clark, Kyleigh Alaniz, Zackery Dyson, Kyla Dailey, Lyndzi Dyson, Ava Dyson, Landon Clark, Phillip Dyson III, Kadence Clark, and Elaina McNiel; great-grandsons, Bentley Miller, Logan Miller and Jackson Miller; great-granddaughter on the way, Bryleigh Taylor; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 - 7 pm. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
