Brenny Family Funeral Chapel - CrosslakeJames (Jim) Scott McLellan, The Whitefish Chain Fishing Legend, died peacefully on Friday August 8, 2025, in Pine River, MN with his wife of 49 years, Lorie, at his side.
He was born in Gothenburg, NE on August 19, 1950, to his parents Richard (Doc) Allen McLellan and Jeanne (Betty) Elizabeth McLellan, who preceded him in death.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Lorie, and two amazing children; son, Joseph McLellan (Anne), daughter, Kerri McLellan (better half, Jake Abrahamson) and his adored and beloved grandchildren; Wyatt, Lincoln and Eva, his siblings; Robert McLellan (Pam) and Lori Paris (John), and his loyal dog, Luna.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025, at 12:00pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Crosslake. There will be a visitation beginning one hour prior to the start of the service at the Chapel. Following the service, the family invites all to attend to celebrate Jim’s well-lived life at Moonlite Bay Restaurant in Crosslake.
Memorials given in Jim’s honor are preferred to Minnesota DNR – memo: Uppgaard Wild Life Management Area.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Crosslake.
