James Claude "Jim/Jimbeaux" Achord died Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Gonzales after a brief illness. Age 86, resident and native of Gonzales. He was retired from Rubicon and also worked many years for Cos-Mar. Survived by daughter, Tina Gautreau; sons, Eric (Kathy) Achord and Chris Achord; grandchildren, Marc and Cory Garza, and Brynn, Emily, Jordan, and Evan Achord; great-grandchildren, Mayci and Lexi Garza, Eli and Evelyn Achord. Preceded in death by bis wife, Evelyn Sheldon Achord; parents, LV and Blanche Achord; brother, David Achord; sister, Rosemary (and Gerald) Babin; sister, Vera (and Roland) Melancon; and son-in-law, Dean Gautreau. Special thanks to dad’s best friend, Rhonda Stafford, and all of the wonderful, caring people at Bridgeway Hospice.
