James “Mike” Michael Altimore, 69, of Pampa, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 14, 2024 in Pampa.
Private services will be held at Enon Cemetery in Iola, Texas with Brother Larry Andrews, pastor at Venetia Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Mike was born on October 26, 1955 in Bryan to James William and Mary Sue Cook Altimore. He was raised in Iola and attended school there. Mike dedicated his life to working the land on the family ranch. His greatest joys in life were his daughter, and later his grandchildren. He was always boasting about his grandson, Rhyder’s, roping success, and his granddaughter, Rhylynd’s, love for baking. In 2021, Mike and his family relocated to the Texas Panhandle where he spent his last years enjoying the vast new views of the ever-changing landscape and snapping pictures of all the new wildlife he experienced.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Sue Altimore; and one brother, Billy Altimore.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Jamie Rosipal and husband Jason; two grandchildren, Rhyder and Rhylynd Rosipal; and two aunts, Paula Yonkers and husband John and ElsaLynn Cook.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Iola Cemetery Association, PO Box, 374, Iola, Texas, 77861-0374.
