James W. Altman, 84 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA. He was born March 13, 1941 in Plum Creek Twp., PA, the son of the late William C. Altman and Anna Mae (Sapp) Altman. James served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville. James retired from Torrance State Hospital as a Psychiatric Aide. He was also a member of the Simple Pleasures Acoustic Band and the Blairsville Ukulele Club. Jim loved gardening and flowers.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet M. (Valuchuck) Altman, Blairsville, PA; sister, Betty Ann Miller, Brush Valley, PA; brother, Jack Altman, Orchard Hills, PA; sister, Kaye Craig, Shelocta, PA; sister, Linda Peterman, Shelocta, PA; nephew, Bill Altman & wife, Lori and their children, Austin & Taylor and family and also several other nieces & nephews. Jim loved his best buddy, Curtis Shoup and all of his former band members. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Irene Angelucci and niece, Kandi Altman.

In keeping with the family's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Interment will be held in the South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, Pennsylvania. If so desired, donations may be made to Chestnut Hills Social Center, 26 Heybert Drive, Blairsville, PA 15717.
