James Dennis Andrasko

James Dennis Andrasko, aged 85 of Harrison Twp., passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Sterling Heights, after a life well-lived and cherished by many. Born on July 31, 1939, in Detroit, to John and Mary Andrasko. James was a man who embraced the world with a warm heart and an open mind.
James graduated from Edwin Denby High School (Detroit) in 1957. Served in the US Air Force in the early 1960's stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science, which paved the way for his successful career in IT. His analytical mind and attention to detail were matched only by his kindness and patience when sharing his knowledge with others. He was also a motivational speaker for Dale Carnegie. In later years, James built a successful career in Real Estate. James's professional legacy is one of innovation and mentorship, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, James was a man of many passions. He found joy in the melodies of music. He played the guitar as well as the keyboard. He was popular with local senior housing communities and nursing homes providing entertainment by playing a variety of music on his keyboard for "sing along" sessions. His love for fishing, casino outings and attending Detroit Lions and Tigers games reflected his zest for life and the pleasure he found in both quiet moments and the thrill of the game.
James's memory is lovingly cherished by his son, John, and daughter, Dawn Andrasko, both of Westland; his sister, Kathleen Rose of Clinton Township; his niece, Wendy Hayes of Wyandotte; his granddaughter, Jacayln Cook; great-granddaughter Nevaeh Cook and companion Lillian Gehrke. Each family member carries forward the light of his spirit in their own lives.
The world is a little less bright without James's presence, but his legacy of warmth, intelligence, and the joy he found in his many interests will continue to inspire all who knew him. James Dennis Andrasko will be profoundly missed, yet his memory will be celebrated and live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
