Publish in a newspaper
Visitation will be at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen on Monday, May 5th, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Jerry Martin. Cremation will follow and a private entombment of ashes will be held at a later date in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery Mausoleum in Brusly.
Jim is survived by his father, Stanford D. Barnett; siblings, Richard Barnett and wife Kathy, Michael Andrew Barnett, Colette Neely and husband Wyatt; nieces and nephews, April Gremillion and husband Justin and Chesica Rebelle; great-nieces and great-nephews, Landen Gremillion and Layla Jo Rebelle.
Jim was preceded in death by mother, Helen Guidry Barnett; brother, Brandon Barnett; two sisters, Baby Barnett and Lesli Barnett.
Jim was a former student at St. Ben's Seminary. He was a former cantor at Holy Family Catholic Church for many years and attended retreat at Manresa for years. Jim was also a former tour guide at the West Baton Rouge Parish Museum.

I just saw the obituary about Jim. Wish I would have seen it sooner so I could have gone to the Wake/Funeral this morning. I express my condolences to the family and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
