James was born in Lewisburg, PA, the son of the late William and Jeannette Bauserman. He was a graduate of John Handley High School, Class of 1965. James worked as a builder/contractor. He was also a woodworker and antique collector.
He married Karen Shifflett in Winchester on February 14, 1988, and she preceded him in death in June of 2006.
James is survived by his daughter, Anne Bauserman (Fikile Smith) of Falls Church, VA; stepson, Mark Shifflett (Holli) of Richmond, VA; step-grandchildren, Sydney Shifflett, Jackson Shifflett; sister, Jane Ann Kelchner of Winchester, VA and his brother, William "Bill" Bauserman (Dee) of Winchester, VA.
Services for James will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of James to Esther Boyd Animal Shelter, 161 Fort Collier Rd., Winchester, VA 22603.
