James Billa Obituary

Born on March 3, 1957, in Gloversville, New York, James was the son of the late Edward Michael Billa Sr. and Dorothy Eileen (Erkenbrack) Billa.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and a proud and dedicated worker, retiring as a manager from the Walmart Distribution Center in Johnstown and owner of J Floral Designs.
Jimmy was known for his vibrant personality and generous heart. He had a passion for crafting floral arrangements, and craft fairs, and he never missed an opportunity to "raise a little cane" in the best way. He was an active member of the community, participating in bingo, visiting casinos, bowling with the Saturday Night Hellers League, and delivering Meals on Wheels to those in need.
Above all, James cherished time with his family. His love and loyalty to them knew no bounds-he always put them first.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Barbara Hale and her husband, Robert, Rick Billa, John Billa and his wife, Brenda, Marianne Hebert and Mark Billa and his wife, Maureen. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
James was predeceased by his beloved parents; his sisters, Joanne Shirk and Susan Mary Billa-Kubovcsak; and his brothers, Edward Billa Jr. and Thomas Billa.
Jimmy's warmth, humor, and heart will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church, 205 Glebe Street, Johnstown.
Interment will immediately follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnstown.

So very sorry to hear this sad news. Jimmy always had a smile and was a very friendly person - only knew him from the Johnstown Senior Center when he would come to Game Day!
