Henry S. Billa JR.

Henry S. Billa Jr., age 78, of Gloversville, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024, with his family at his side.
Born on August 11, 1945, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late Henry S. Billa Sr. and Doris (Manzer)_ Billa.
Henry, known for his joyous spirit and hearty chuckles, lived a life that was as rich and fulfilling as the outdoors he cherished. Widely recognized as loving, friendly, and funny, he brightened the lives of all who knew him. An avid outdoorsman, Henry's passion for hunting and fishing was only surpassed by the delight he took in sharing this love with his children and great-grandchildren. As a man who always offered a helping hand, his caring nature has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Each Christmas season, he transformed into the best Santa, and year-round, he was "Poppy".
In addition to his parents, Henry is predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Sharon Billa, whom he married on May 9, 1964, and who passed away before him on January 27, 2015. Henry now reunites with her and their son Michael Billa, who also preceded him in death; as well as brother, Larry Billa.
Surviving Henry are his adoring children, Henry S. Billa III (Lucia), Lorraine Ippoliti (Richard), Lenora Billa, Dougie Billa, Scott Billa; brother, Ronald Billa (Kathy), Donald Billa (Pam); sisters, Carol Conant, Pam Poest (Jeff Jurdach) ; grandchildren, Laura Ellsworth (Chris), Steven Billa (Liya), Richard Ippoliti III, Amy Ippoliti ( Mason Pitkin), Gracie Billa, Kathleen Billa, Douglas Billa, Michael Billa, Gavin Warner, Jacob Billa, and Amy Lee Billa, and his 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
Interment will immediately follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, NY.
