James Lyle Bloomberg (Eddy), beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully at 6:38 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Green Valley Rehabilitation Center in North Richland Hills, TX, after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer. Jim was born on June 28, 1966, in Charleston, SC and resided in North Richland Hills for over 45 years. Jim was predeceased by his father, Maj. Elliot L. Bloomberg, grandparents, Irene Bloomberg (Rosenfield), James "Jimmy" Murphy, and Hannah Malone. He is survived by his mother, Maureen E Bloomberg (previously Eddy) (Murphy); His Brother, Steve S. Bloomberg, and sister-in-law, Lori L. Bloomberg (Green); brother, Adam D. Bloomberg, and sister-in-law, Laura L. Bloomberg (Phelps); his two nieces, Madalyn J. Bloomberg, and Lyndsay G. Bloomberg; his Aunt Stephanie Miller (Bloomberg); his Aunt Lynda Bloomberg; and cherished cousins, William Malone, Campbell Malone, Betty Holland (Malone), Brian Malone, Dawn Ross (Bloomberg), Sharon Bloomberg, and Stephanie, Steven, and Heidi Miller.
Jim graduated from Richland High School in 1985. He had a strong passion for the aviation field, obtaining his pilot's license at the age of 18. He attended Wentworth Military Academy and served time in the US Military. He flew for Express Jet, Mesa Airlines and United Express. He was later a flight instructor and a member of ye Anciente and Secret Order of Quiet Birdmen. He was also a proud member of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP).
Jim was a friend to all who crossed his path, always bringing warmth and kindness to those around him. He will be deeply missed. The family will hold a celebration of life within the next few months, with details to follow later.
