James Allen Buckner, known affectionately as Tractor to his friends and family, passed away on the 18th of December 2025, in
Bradenton, Florida. He was born on August 26, 1959, in
Shirley, Massachusetts.
A proud alumnus of Palmetto High School, James' commitment to discipline and excellence was evident early in his life. After graduation, he honorably served his country in the Army before embarking on a distinguished over 40-year career in management at Kash N Karry, SweetBay, and Publix. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his colleagues and the many lives he touched through his professional associations.
James' personal life was rich with the love of his family. He was previously married to Jennifer Buckner and Karen Clapper, both of whom shared in his life's journey. A devoted father, he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his six children: Katie McKenna (Dan), Kelly Buckner (Frank), Jade Richmond (Paul), Paige Perlas (Andrea), Clark McFarland and Shane Buckner. Along with his three sisters: Helen, Eva, and Ruthie. As well as six grandchildren. Each of them will remember their father, brother and papaw for the unwavering support and boundless affection he provided throughout their lives.
James reveled in the simple pleasures of life. His joy was most palpable when he was surrounded by his loved ones at cookouts, while fishing or camping, or watching his Buccaneers. Also, when he was on many family trips they took, creating memories that they would carry with them forever. His laughter and the twinkle in his eye during these moments encapsulated the essence of a man who found happiness in the happiness of others.
Those who knew James can attest to his gentle demeanor, which could calm the most turbulent of seas. He approached life and its challenges with a selfless attitude, always placing the needs of others above his own. His loving nature was a beacon for those seeking comfort and guidance, and it is this attribute that his family and friends will miss most deeply.
James Allen Buckner's departure from this world leaves behind a void that cannot be filled. Yet, his spirit will continue to live on through the countless stories of kindness and the rich tapestry of lives he has woven with his love. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take solace in the knowledge that his legacy is one of profound love and unwavering compassion, a true testament to the life he lived so fully.
