James Mitchell Bulleman, 65, of Myrtle Beach, SC went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Grand Strand Hospital. Jimmy was born in Columbus, Georgia to the late Mary Lynne Griffin. At the age of 8 Jimmy and his little sister were adopted by his father, Christian Bulleman and he remembered clearly telling the judge he wanted Chris to be his daddy.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, mother Lynne, step-mother Doreen, brother Danny Bulleman, sister Cheri Bulleman, aunt Phyllis Ogle and other family members.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Becky Bulleman, his children; Tony Bulleman (Melanie), Christina Feusse, JC Bulleman (Gabby), Garrett Bulleman, Isabella Bulleman (Elijah), four granddaughters; Mackenzie, Cameron, Madison, Trinity, brothers; Chris Bulleman (Priscilla), Tim Bulleman (Cheryl), Kerry Bulleman, Paul Bulleman (Ginny), sisters; Janine Peterson (Steve), Chantale Bulleman (Kelly) and Sabrina Pate, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; as well as his best companion Sadie the Dawg and his granddog, Sike-O.
After time in the United States Army, Jimmy spent the majority of his career in the construction sales industry.
Jimmy was a quiet man with a heart to serve the Lord. His greatest ambition was to bring someone to know Jesus. Because of the trials and tribulations he endured, he found joy in ministering to those who were in need. Working closely with Celebrate Recovery, he found himself serving in the local jails, bringing the Gospel to those often forgotten and cast aside. He also spent time at a men's recovery home, working through the 12-step program to assist these men in finding their value in the Lord and their ability to succeed in society.
Jimmy also had a passion for serving in his home church, Church of the Resurrection. He was always ready to jump into action whether it be serving at the altar or bulldozing a parking lot. He just wanted to serve. It brought him great joy to help others.
Among his favorite hobbies were fishing and talking about fishing, watching or coaching his kids as they compete in any and every sport imaginable. Anything that would allow him to spend time with his children brought him great joy. He also enjoyed going to concerts and a few cruises with his wife and family.
Many hours were spent between him and Sadie as they had a relationship that was like no other. Nobody could put a smile on his face like Sadie the Dawg.
Jimmy served as a Lay Reader, an Usher, Prayer Team member, on the vestry, Jr. Warden, leader of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew and even had a short stent on the Altar Guild. There is no question that Jimmy loved the Lord, his family, and his friends with all his heart. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
A Celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 2 PM, at The Church of the Resurrection, 8901 Hwy 17 Bypass South, Surfside Beach, SC 29575. The Very Rev. Ronald E. Greiser, Jr. will be officiating. Memorials to The Church of the Resurrection.
