James Caianiello

1943 – 2025

Age 82 Las Vegas, Nevada

James V. Caianiello of Pahrump, Nevada, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas. He was 82 years old.

Born on August 7, 1943, in Warwick, Rhode Island, James was the son of the late Ralph Duffy Caianiello and Jennie Caianiello (Colardo). James was one of four brothers; Louis A. Caianiello of Warwick, RI; and is predeceased by his brothers Ralph F. Caianiello of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Steven P. Caianiello of Coventry, RI.

James is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Melissa J. Hynes, and granddaughter Madison Jones; his son, Michael J. Caianiello, and granddaughter Morgan Caianiello; as well as his former wife, Janice Caianiello.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force and later graduated from Providence College. James went on to build a successful career as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), from which he eventually retired.

Known to many as Jim, he found joy in sailing and riding his motorcycle - pastimes that reflected his adventurous spirit and love for the open road and sea. His charismatic personality and sense of humor left lasting impressions on those who knew him.

A private memorial service will be held in his honor.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
