James Leon Calderella

James L Calderella Jr. 96 of Manchester died Saturday, February 7, 2026 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Born and raised in Utica, NY he lived in many areas throughout New York and New Jersey before settling in Manchester over 20 years ago. He served in the Army from 1952-1954 as 1st Lieutenant and Company Commander of B Company during the Korean War. He attended Cornell University in Ithaca NY, graduating with a master's in civil engineering. He worked as a civil engineer his entire life, most recently at Ocean County Utility Authority before retiring in 1998. James was an avid golfer and Eagles fan and loved to read and take walks outside. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Marie in 2004 and his sister, Julianne. Surviving are his sons, John (Jolaine) Calderella, James (Kathy) Calderella, sisters, Pat Samarco and Linda Cubbage, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is Thursday from 4-8 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, Manchester with a 6 PM service. Interment is Friday 11:30 AM at St Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.
