Mr. James "Jim" Taylor Camp, also known to many as Chig, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at age 52.
Mr. Camp was born January 14, 1972, in Carrollton, Georgia the son of the late Daniel Parks Camp and Linda Smith Camp. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1990 where he was an active member of the Carrollton High School Trojan Marching Band. Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Samford University in 1994. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He then received his Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law in 1997. Following graduation, Jim returned to Carrollton to practice law with his father at Wiggins & Camp and remained there throughout his career. He was also a judge for the Carroll County Magistrate Court from January 2007 until his death. Jim served on the Board of Trustees for Alice's House beginning in 2013.
Jim was a member of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church for most of his life. He entertained and shared God's love with others at Noah's Ark in Panama City, Florida as a youth and played in the worship band for many years as an adult.
Jim was happiest when he was playing music, whether it be a piano, guitar or singing. He could be found sharing these God-given gifts and talents anywhere-in a church worship band, beachside, lakeside, on the square in Carrollton, and in his own living room. His music was truly a gift to others.
Jim is survived by his beloved children, Emma, Jack and Sam Camp; his brother Joseph Parks Camp (wife Shellie) of Tallahassee, Florida and his sister Cathleen Camp Crunk (husband Jason) of Franklin, Tennessee. He was "Uncle JJ" to his six nieces and nephews - Claire Camp, Mary Hinson Crunk, Charlotte Crunk, Thompson Crunk, Maddox Crunk and Lydia Crunk.
