James J. Ciaccio, 73, of Rockford, IL passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021. He was born October 18, 1947 in Rockford, IL the son of John and Mary (Fatone) Ciaccio. Jim married the love of his life, Cindy Merriott in 1977. He worked for 30 years at Pabst Blue Ribbon and 10 years at Walgreen's. Jim was a hardworking, genuine man who greeted everyone with a friendly smile. He was an avid golfer, bocce and softball player. Many weekends Jim could be found at Ingersoll golf course. Jim was the vice president and a very devoted member of the St. Ambrogio Society. He would be there 7 days a week for coffee and daily activities with his buddies, he was king of the grill. He was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Lombardi Club. Jim was proud of his Italian heritage and fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Sicily. Jim was a great man and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He was the best Dad a kid could ask for.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Cindy; children, John (Anne) Ciaccio, Gina (Gene) Edmonds, Chuck (Deanne) Ciaccio, Jimmy (Jen) Ciaccio, Jr. and Nick (Breanne) Ciaccio; grandchildren, Jake and Brianna, Austin, Jonathan and Joshua, Alec, Alyssa and Abigail; grandpups, Hogan and Enzo, Elliana (Peanut Butter); siblings, Corrine (Jerry) Wood and Anthony (Glenda) Ciaccio; brothers and sister-in-law, Barb (Dave) Mullins, Chuck (Tonya) Merriott, Ron (Todd Rennels) Merriott; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; the Saturday night gang. Predeceased by his parents; mother and father-in-law. The family would like to thank the staff at Javon Bea for their care and compassion.
