Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory LTD - Mulford ChapelNancy D. Tracy first embraced her savior on August 26, 2025. She was born on July 11, 1945, in Evanston, Illinois. Nancy lived a blessing filled life. Nancy was married to her sweetheart Bill for 57 years. Together they had a daughter Diane Marie May of Volo, Illinois and a son, Sean Patrick of Palmer, Alaska. Adding to her joy, Nancy and Bill loved their 3 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, and 3 great grandchildren.
Nancys life was further enriched with her passion for nursing, caring for oncology and hospice patients for many years.
She is survived by her children Diane May (Walter Fisher) of Volo, Illinois, and Sean Tracy (his wife Tracy) of Palmer, Alaska; Bringing additional joy to her life were her grandchildren, Justin (Tara) May, Kyle May, Taylor Tracy, Luke Tracy, Erin Tracy, Jillian Tracy, Katie Joy Tracy, Bridget Tracy and Daphne Tracy, as well as great grandchildren Carson, Cameron and Emery May; and also enriching her life remains her brothers Jim Schaefer, Tom Schaefer (Carolyn), Dick Schaefer, Bud Schaefer (Robin), Dan Schaefer (Sue); a sister, Sally Grube (John), and through marriage, one brother-in-law Steve Tracy (LeAnne) & a sister-in-law Linda Brasket (Billy). She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Frances Schaefer; the love of her life, Bill; her sister, Joan Feldmeir (Matt); and brother-in-law, Dennis Tracy.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108, with a visitation prior to the service from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice and Home at 1658 IL. Route 2, Oregon, IL 61061.
