James "Jimmy" Jeremy Cooper, 48, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Albany Medical Center.
Jimmy was born on August 30, 1976, in Amsterdam to Janet (Goch) and Donald Cooper. He grew up locally and graduated from Fonda Fultonville High School in 1995. Afterwards, he obtained an associate degree from Fulton Montgomery Community College, graduating with the class of 1997. He then worked various manufacturing jobs throughout his life.
He enjoyed listening to music, along with playing the guitar and piano.
He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents; brother Jonathan Cooper; and Uncle Richard Goch.
Jimmy is survived by his parents Janet and Donald Cooper; niece Kayleigh Cooper; aunts Marilyn Pingitore and Claudia (Marlin) Stanley; many cousins; beloved cats Simba, Neon, and Shadow; and cherished dogs Bullet, Moose, and Lilly.
James' arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. There will be a private interment at St Stanislaus Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, 1232 NY State HWY 5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or online SUPPORT US | MC-SPCA.
