James Mace Coughlin passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his wife and three children.
Born and raised in Denver, Jim led the family business with dedication while devoting himself to faith, family, and community. He was a proud graduate of Blessed Sacrament, Regis High School, and Notre Dame University, sustaining lifelong friendships from each. He also gave generously of his time, especially in support of the Society for the Prevention of Blindness.
Jim found joy in skiing, golf, and biking, and he never stopped being a curious, lifelong learner. Gracious in spirit and quick with a smile—or a well-timed joke—he brightened every room he entered. His kindness, warmth, and lighthearted humor will be dearly missed and long remembered, especially by his wife of 65 years, Mary Lou; sons Walt (Ellyn) and Mike (Anne); daughter Mimi (Valerie); six grandchildren; and a growing generation of great-grandchildren.
The family will honor and celebrate Jim’s life with a private funeral mass.
