James Paul Cowin, known to family and friends as Paul, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on March 2, 1953, Paul was the son of James Cowin and Dolores Brown Cowin, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Cowin; his sister, Mary Martini, and her husband, Gary; nieces and nephews, Tina Anderson (Scott), Susan McClenahan, and Dilbert Shadowens (Kodi); as well as extended family and many friends.

Paul had a lifelong love for music. He played everywhere he could, in the 70s he recorded two 45 RPM records that play KSHE radio, and was a member of two bands, Freight and Strawberry Sundae. A proud father and loyal friend, Paul will be remembered for his talent with music, his love for his daughter, and his easygoing spirit.

A graveside memorial will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11 am at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, Missouri, where he will be laid to rest with his parents. Pastor Steve Doss will be officiating.
