James Adam Craig, DDS of Lumberton, passed away at the age of 78 on Friday, September 19, 2025 at his home. Born in Schenectady, NY, Jim was a graduate of Harper College and the University of Buffalo Dental School. He did his Periodontal training at Walter Reed and served around the world in the US Army as a dentist for 21 years - always accompanied by his family. After his retirement, he worked in private practice and most recently was a professor at Temple University's Dental School. Jim enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, golfing, and piloting his own private plane and spending time at Yankee Lake. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Rogers Craig; 3 children: Alex (Marci), Kathy (Richard Ma), and Robert (Lisa); 7 grandchildren: Paige & Jack Craig, Charlotte & Madeline Ma, Jamie, Vincent, & Malcolm Craig; his brother: Russ (Carole) Craig; brother-in-law John (Karen) Rogers; nieces, nephew and cousins. Jim was board certified member of the American Academy of Periodontology; American Board of Oral Medicine; American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry; American College of Forensic Examiners. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church, 125 Garden St., Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family from 10am – 11am at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Samaritan Hospice https://www.samaritannj.org/giving/donate-now/ or to The First Presbyterian Church of Mount Holly at the address above.
