James Clyde Cubbage, age 71, of Clarkson, passed away, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at his home from natural causes.
He was born July 28, 1951, in Clarkson, to the late Walter Lewis and Amy Ashley Cubbage. He was the first child delivered by Dr. Clyde J. Nicols.
James got his master's degree in Geology from Western Kentucky University, and he worked in many western states as a geologist. He was a member of the Order of DeMolay in Leitchfield, was a past master of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the St. Andrew's Society in Evansville and the Clan Campbell Society of North America. He was very active in Civil War Reenactments and an avid arrowhead hunter and collector. He enjoyed gardening and farming and was the owner of the Caledonian Services. James was a member of Clarkson United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Lewis Cubbage.
James is survived by two sisters, Karen Decker and Sandra (Robert) Logsdon all of Clarkson; a brother, Edward (Darlene) Cubbage of Clarkson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Rogers Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Duvall and Bro. Johnny Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarkson Cemetery.
Visitation will after 10 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.
