James W. Cunningham, 80, formerly of Middleton, died on Monday, February 6, 2023,in Fort Atkinson.
He was born on March 14, 1942, in Kendell Township, WI, the son of Willard and Eva (Amenda) Cunningham. He served in the U.S. Army in the 1960s. He married Jean Koehler on May 20, 1972, at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson and the couple lived in Middleton most of their married life. Jim was employed at Sub Zero in Madison, starting in 1977 and retired after 32 years in 2009. A great lover of sports, he also worked as a security guard at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters Tammy (Josh) Bogle of Austin, TX and Debra (Dan) Limberg of Onalaska; four grandchildren Lydia, Lucie and Miles Bogle and Cassie Limberg; a brother Jerry (Arlene) Cunningham of Middleton; and sisters Polly Tank of Tennessee and Mavis Feiber of Middleton. Jim is also survived by other relatives.
James is proceeded in death by his parents and number of siblings.
Special thanks to Rainbow Hospice for providing care in the final three months of Jim's life.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Rock River Cemetery with Pastor Tom Dowling presiding.
