James W. Day Sr. (aka The Other One), 70, passed away on August 19, 2025. He was born on March 19, 1955 in Toledo, OH.
Jim was a day one season ticket holder for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was a devoted member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church where he loved the Lord and enjoyed taking pictures of "unique" things.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Day Jr. and Ethel M. (Burhandt) Day, brother in law, John D. Williams Sr., and fur babies, Kerchak, Kala, King, Koda and Kopi.
Surviving family includes loving wife of 42 years, Heidi, son, Jimmy (Kim) Day Jr., brother, William E. (Toni) Day III, sister, Kathleen M. Williams, nephews, William E. (Danya) Day IV, John D. (Sarah) Williams Jr., Mark E. Williams, Kevin C. Williams, great-niece, Chelsey E. (Lee) Fessler and furbaby, Kerby.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Monday, August 25, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH.
A funeral service will be at 11am, with additional visitation from 10-11am, Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the John & Matthew Gaudreau Foundation or to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
The family wishes to thank Capital City Hospice for their loving care of Jim.
