James Maynard Dew, age 91, of Delaware, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024. He was born in Fairview, Michigan on June 28, 1933, to the late Cameron Dew and Madonna Marie (Lafleur) Dew.
James graduated from Saginaw High School and completed two years at a trade school to become a certified Tool & Die Maker. He was a skilled craftsman in his career field and truly enjoyed it.
James married Bernice Frances Urbanski on May 5, 1956, in Augres, Michigan. The couple lived in Toledo, Ohio for 28 years. After retirement James and Bernice moved to Tennessee for 10 years, and for the last 18 years have resided in Delaware, Ohio to be closer to family.
James was a loving husband and father. He was a man with a generous heart, and possessed a personality that was warm, welcoming and inviting. James was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had an interest in antique cars and felt grateful to be able to own a couple during his lifetime.
James was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Sunbury, Ohio and formerly an enthusiastic choir member at church as well. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. James was a dedicated family man, who is deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Bernice Dew of Delaware, Ohio; sons, Phil (Misty) Dew of Delaware, Ohio and Vincent (Kimberly) Dew of Howell, Michigan; grandchildren, Sierra (Brian) Dew-Campbell, David Dew, and Mikenna Dew; great-grandson, Clay Campbell; step-granchildren, Kalie Holub, Alaric (Taylor) Coury and Sebastian Coury; step-great-grandson, Harlan Coury.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Cameron and Madonna Dew; son, David Dew; sister, Marjorie Woodruff; brothers, Eugene, Gerald, and Ray Dew.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with a gathering prior from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 E. State Route 37, Sunbury, Ohio 43074.
